My sourdough starter. Took it out of the fridge and fed it last night and
today it's flat as a pancake. I think it's the chlorine in the tap water.

    What do the panel think?

Leave the water to stand overnight so that any chlorine dissipates, just
as you would for freshwater tropical fish.

I think you should have capitalised 'panel' and addressed us as "The

As to your question, if in doubt, use fresh yeast; warmth is your

I've tried sourdough, but I find it difficult to get on with. My son
bought me some starter from Amazon, and I made a few mediocre loaves
with it. Then, I killed it. So, I've rather given up.

It's not advisable to use chlorinated water in a fish tank but the usual
ways of avoiding this is to use a small amount of a dechlorination
additive or just let the water stand for a day.
