This is a follow up to my post titled "Car accident question"......I thought it best to keep it separate.

So I've collected my courtesy car today following a no-fault claim and was asked to swipe my credit card for a nominal, refundable £1 charge.

    Why I asked?

"Oh, it's just in case you incur any parking or speeding charges" says the (very nice) guy.

"You don't just pay these do you?" I asked.

Apparently they do even when I told the guy "you don't have my permission to accept liability on my behalf".

So what's the legal position when a third party pays your "fine" so that there is no recourse even though, for example, the parking company has issued a non POFA compliant document.

It will probably be hidden in the small print of your insurance policy,
or, if you sign to accept the car in that document, that you agree to
them paying fines on your behalf if you accept the courtesy car.
