    I think the u.c.vintage contingent de-camped to a.f.computers

I suspect Cummins will be along to reap this group soon, hopefully that
won't have the effect of removing the archives from google groups ...

I still look in. Not seen any activity for some time.
Anyone been to the National Museum of Computing recently?
I keep meaning to go again, but it's a bit of a jaunt involving 'fun'

First I need a desk to put it on. I have the space - man cave nearly

The only one I know about is the National Museum of Computing at Bletchley Park. As well as a working Colossus rebuild, and one of the old air traffic control units (still displays current aircraft positions) it is very hands-on. A
lot of the 1980s home computers are set up and running for you to play on.

It's a great place - support by membership, if possible. It's probably
a good thing I live just over 3 hours drive from them, else I'd be there
every weekend... And now they have a working BOMBE machine too.

The other place I visit (even further for me), is the Center for Computing History
in Cambridge: http://www.computinghistory.org.uk/ They are more into gaming type
computers, so late 70's onwards, but they have a working Elliot 903 and bits
of some other old computers all on display, not to mention the "Mega Processor".

I've been to that one, and also a very good one in Boston (USA rather
than Lincolnshire), which Wikipedia informs me sadly closed in 2000.
