    Hello, all

Having failed to configure the framebuffer on my antiX Linux, and
finding the classic Framebuffer HOWTO by Alex Buell rather obsolete:

    https://tldp.org/HOWTO/Framebuffer-HOWTO/index.html

I wrote to Alex with a request to update it for the new decade, but
my e-mail was bounced. If Alex is reading this, or anybody knows
his current contacts, please let me know.

The putting of Alex's name in the subject was a grave
blunder on my part, which I realised only upon seening the
posted article. Please, remove his name from the subject in
    your follow-ups.

    Andy Burns:

Maybe just describe your problem, and see what anyone
    suggests?

I will ceratainly do so in another thread, in default of
help from the antiX Linux community. I know it is impolite
towards others and somewhat straining for oneself to discuss
a problem simultaneosly in various communication mediums.

Linux framebuffer support is gradually being removed, being replaced by using DRM (GPU drivers):

If you don't want to use X, you could look at using something like SDL2,
which can use KMS and DRM as a backend. KMS is the part that sets up
the fullscreen display (including picking resolution etc).
