I've used Tier1 with no regrets.

    https://tier1online.com/

They seem a reasonable company to deal with ... the kit I've had from
them has been as-described, and all of it has been reliable.

Like any purveyor of "previously loved" systems they don't always have
exactly what you want, and when they do it may not as cheap as you'd like.

I've managed to break my Dell Latitude 7280 whilst travelling.
    It reported RAM problem.
I tried to reseat the RAM and managed to break the clips.
Now it won't even get as far as grumbling about the RAM.
I assume motherboard failure due to getting banged about on aeroplanes and
    the like.
The other laptop survived but was in the central compartment of the bag.
This laptop has travelled the same route a year ago and been fine.

Anyway, I haven't looked further into this yet but I assume that a new motherboard is going to be more expensive than the cost of a replacement.
Again assuming that the processor can't be swapped (i7).

So I almost certainly need a new or good specification used laptop.
The dead one had an i7 and a Thunderbolt port, both of which would be good
    on any replacement.

    Suggestions, please.

    Used business machine?

If possible I would like slightly more graphics performance because the GPU runs almost flat out in Teams/Zoom meetings.

I could just look for the same model but it is old(er) now and I don't
think that there is much apart from the battery which could be reused as spares.

I am reviving this HP and will transition to W10 as soon as I can.
This had the case broken and was replaced by our first 7280.
Seems to work OK on the 4K screen so far.

The 12" size is about right for a true portable.
Looking at the web (now I have a working system up here) refurbished
models are not a lot of money.

    Random first hit example above.
Can people please recommend reliable(ish) suppliers of refurb systems?

I can foresee hours of innocent fun.

    Any advice more than welcome.

    Cheers

Laptops Direct are worth a look:

    https://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/

I had a used Dell laptop from them which was excellent. I also had a new "previous generation" Lenovo V17 G3 Intel Core i5-1235U which was £600
so compared quite well with ex-business. It's incredibly fast to my mind,
    CPUs have really moved on!
