Unless things have changed recently, you're
wasting the potential of that K-SKU CPU on a
B-motherboard. The K tag indicates the CPU is
an overclocker, but that's not something the
B-series motherboard will allow. For the best
match you'd want to either save a few pennies
and get a non-K CPU, or spend a few extra and
get a Z-series motherboard.

I went for:
Gigabyte Z790 D DDR4 ATX Motherboard
which takes DDR4 memory and is not designed to
overclock. It needs an 8 pin and a 4 pin power
supply as well as the standard 24 pin. I have,
within the last few minutes, found all the
cables to do this but you may want to check?

Mine worked without the second power connector
but the cable I need should arrive by 1:45 if
Amazon does its stuff!

It arrived (not quite the one I ordered but it
works) and is fitted, it has pushed the
Novabench score up by about 10% whereas
tweaking memory speed did nothing (perhaps lack
of power?).
I found a seller on eBay offering Win 10
licences at £7.98 and it activated fine, hope
future installs will as well!

Turns out mine wont start. Im hoping its just that it needs both 8 pin 12v >connectors plugged in (my psu only has 2x4), so adapters are coming!

Fingers crossed for you!
I will start the software transfer tomorrow, lots of stuff that has to be un-installed from the old PC while connected to the Internet so it can
free the licence for a re-install.

It lives! Just needed both 8 pin 12v connectors plugged in. W11 installed
and
running great. ANd most stuff trans ferred off the old ssd with W7 on it.
It
just picked yesterday to lose its bloody file table!
