It only offers a Windows account.

    Nothing is simple.

Pull the network cable before installing.

I'm just installing the latest W10 and it doesn't seem to be offering the option that I have seen in the past (and also described on line in various articles) to create a local account.

It only offers a Windows account.

Is this a recent change or have I missed a key screen by letting it run unmonitored?

    Nothing is simple.

Pull the network cable before installing.

Or in my case don't enable the WiFi.

Anyway, used a little used Google account and all is working(ish) so far.

Although the original problem with the power supply seems to have come
    back.

    Cheers

I use a standard windows account. It means that my PC and laptop stay
synced. Some stuff is backed up to the cloud. There are advantages.

I appreciate that it may make it easier for Bill Gates to insert chips
    into my bloodstream, though.
