I have been getting some help from MSFT's "learn.microsoft.com" as I try
to get VS2022 working in a civilised way.
At the bottom of the VS2022 IDE there are three indicators, an animated
icon, the word "Ready" and a good old fashioned progress bar. When
compiling they say different things, the animation is animating, "Ready"
just sits there and the progress bar gets greener and greener. Even then
it's finished the icon keeps animating.
One person asked why I thought the indicators should be in sync with a big smiley so clearly pragmatism rules.
My question asking why it was so slow compared to VS2008 has quietly disappeared, shades of MSFT disappearing from Usenet in order to move to
forums for a "richer experience".
