Somebody has just asked a question in a Windows FB group. He wants to know
if he types "HI" in to an app it can automagically be changed to "Hello" which he says his Mac does.
I've not come across it before, any comments?

Comments? I mean, it definitely does that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Which I got by typing in shrug as I have a system text replacement for
it. System Settings, Keyboard, Text Replacement. They sync to my other
Macs, iPhone and iPad too.
Doesn't work everywhere; notably some webapps-disguised-as-apps use
their own text methods not the system provided ones. But those generally
suck anyway, so.

Is there anything similar for Windows? Nearest I can think of is something >like auto correct in Word.

I recently discovered TyperText (free) which I now use. It works with
WIN10 and may be what you need.
