Making progress and I found the tiny bag of screws :-)
The Data Share NAS backs itself up to drive 1 on the back up NAS and that
in turn syncs drive 1 separately to drive 2 then drive 3. It's a neat sync
app on the NAS, first job starts at 4 a.m. then the others start as each previous job finishes. No load on any of the PCs.
Visual Studio seems happy with using data on the NAS and writing the
'compiled' output there. Interestingly all of my "well behaved" apps run perfectly well from the NAS. I am tossing up whether to do that or keep
local copies. If they are on the NAS I only have to update one copy of
course same as the data.
