How many drives do I need?

7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms, apparently, so you might be
best off to use very large drives. :)

Forgive me interrupting, but I bought a couple of 3TB drives from Amazon
last year. £48.46 each, delivered. Brand new, ofc. Toshiba P300.

£40 each for used WD Red 3TB seems a lot, in comparison. The Toshibas
have been very reliable, if rather noisy. I have 4 of them, altogether, including some bought a few years ago (for more money), and none have
    failed.

Ofc, comparing them with WD Red isn't fair, but I won't be lining up to
buy used drives for £40, I'm afraid.

£20, maybe, to keep my downloaded pron collection on, perhaps, but I
wouldn't want to put anything important on a used drive. Not to
denigrate the importance of pron, ofc! :)

In fairness to Raj, the price of the Toshes on Amazon has gone up over
50% since I bought them last year.

I'd still be haggling over £40 for used drives, though. :)

I doubt that Raj pays very much at all for the drives, but I suspect
that he may have to drive hundreds of miles to collect them. Plus, he
    needs to make a living.

Nevertheless, I don't have an awful lot of data that I'm prepared to
    entrust to a second-hand drive.

    Any one interested?

Thanks for all people who got in touch and make me laugh.

Sold 2Pcs to one kind gentle man at £40 each delivered.

You could have sold 16 to me if the price was right :-)

No chance at your offer of £20 each including VAT and delivery 😂

no chance for the customer at your charge of £17 for running blancco
or Dariks on used disks 😂

I have a spare machine here thats solely used for wiping disks... plug
HDD in, turn PC on and it wipes every disk attached...

Come back the following morning, power down machine, unplug disks then
use or dispose as you see fit!

Can do up to 8 drives on this machine.....

Correction: I do not do data wipe, proper Adisa 270001 Accredited
companies who do corporation clearance charge £17 per hard drive. Big corporations pay to protect their data.

I am trade seller and by law can not do that and tell customer it is
data wiped to a standard. Thats why I get kit from large Adisa 270001 Accredited companies and comply with the law.
