The point is that many people are circulating around who are
infected without betraying symptoms and we must protect ourselves from
these carriers. Mask and social distance help. Safest contacts are via computer. Even when 70% or more of the population is vaccinated and
herd immunity is attained people will still get sick if not vaccinated
and refuse to mask and socially distance themselve

A vaccine does not give instant immunity; it takes two weeks after the
flu shot for it to be fully effective.
