• Demi Lovato ???

Who the hell is Demi Lovato and why should I care
about her OD ? Junkies take what they can find and
sometimes it's bad stuff. Stick the needle in and
you take yer chances. I have little sympathy beyond
seeing such things as a reason to end the stupid
    drug war.

But of course profit, not reason, is why the
    drug war persists ...

I tend to agree with you. Ms.Lovato
is someone I never heard of before this, but <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demi_Lovato>

As for me I have lost enough friends
or maybe only acquaintances who were dear to
me not because of the rotten choices that they
made. One was on a methadone Rx program and
wanted the high so much that she fixed with
whatever was being sold as heroin and died.
I heard about it from a friend who
had taken charge of informing her correspondents
of her death. I just checked and 0 online
references found to her or to her death.

Merchants of death are not only arms
dealers but the massive squeals of "never take
my guns away" fuel sales of deadly weapons
    constantly.

    bliss

The "heroin epidemic" didn't start until Obama
made it really hard to get prescription-grade
opiates. Then everybody didn't turn right to
go to the drugstore, they turned left to go
to their friendly local heroin dealer. I guess
somebody sold Obama on the notion that they'd
all suddenly become pious puritans .....

Alas the demand was SO great, the dealers had
to find some way to stretch their supply - and
turned to fentanyl. That drug is SO potent there
is no convenient way to properly measure the
amount that needs to be added to the heroin.
    Dealers "just guess" ...

And those weapons just wander about on their own
    volition eh ?

    Nope.

They are attached to the hands of those who profit
    from the drug-war environment.

Destroy that enviroment - end prohibitionism.
Legal junkies are easy to cope with. Those
who are always suffering from a "shortage
mentality" and the ones who most profit from
that are NOT easy to deal with.
