New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is set
to instruct NYPD to stop arrests of New
Yorkers smoking weed in public while
additionally forming a task force to ease
what he sees as an inevitable full-on
    legalization of recreational marijuana.

You know, Lee, the Trump-stalking moron and I might agree on this. I
think ALL drugs should be legalized.

SHOULD, yes ... prohibition spawns endless gangs,
corruption, violence & overindulgence (the psychology
of perceived "shortage" applies). Oh, and there's that
pesky Land Of The Free paradigm to consider also ...

BUT - the country is not only full of blue-nosed control
freaks (who donate/vote) but the presence of irresitable
illegal things gives the State a huge amount of leverage
    on the population.

So you may be looking at the wrong logic here - it's
the logic of money/control/power that's being used.
Ergo I see no end in sight for the 'drug war'.

If someone wants to ruin their miserable existence and blot out the
facts of all of their failures by being in a consistent drug haze, I
say "fuck 'em - let them do their thing".

I have no problem with what this Communist does in that shithole called
    New York City.

I doubt NYC changed the law because of any
overwhelming libertarian intent ... more because
the potheads were costing it way too much money
with too little gained in return.
