Oxfordshire village runs dry as drought leaves residents relying
    on bottled water

Thames Water sends tankers and hands out bottles to residents
after reservoir supplying Northend dries up

    . . .

Well, they knew it would happen. Buckinghamshire is apparently
next up. This drought/heat-wave is about at the scale of the
1976 disaster already and may easily surpass it.

Though we do have to wonder why 1976, with a lot less GW,
    was so bad ........

In any case, now a LOT of money/fuel/energy have to be put
into literally trucking water around when there isn't all
that much spare money to throw around. It is going to get
    WORSE too.

Meanwhile, it is claimed Thames Water has such LEAKY
pipes that fully 25% of its product never makes it
to the consumers. Sorry, but hosepipe bans are NOT
    going to compensate.

And France and Spain are also badly damaged. Seems an
odd pressure system has stalled and had been pumping
Saharan air into Europe long-term now. May continue
another month. Lots of fires. Crop yeilds down - on
top of the Ukrainian grain shortage.

Some years you just get screwed. NEXT year ... floods
    for sure :-)
