Good for Texas - and several other states will surely
    create identical laws.

However, this was a partisan decision.

Also, strictly, the FED has the power over immigration
so individual states really ought not be able to take
such power for themselves. OTOH, states blowing-off
federal laws/regs is nothing new. Hey, reefer legal
in yer state ? It's still severely against federal law.

The conservate justices on the Supreme Court know Biden isn't
protecting border, and the liberal justices don't care.

Fortunately there are a majority of conservative justices.

When the president of the US won't protect the states from
invasion by a foreign power ,which is his constitutional duty, the
states have to have the power to protect themselves.

In my opinion Biden is a traitor, and should be impeached and
    imprisoned.

And yet Trump and the Republicans are the ones who just tanked efforts
to throw more money at the problem to shorten the time asylum seekers
have to stay in the country.

    The states have no right
    to usurp federal authority.
We had a war over that and
    your side lost, remember?

I'll take the Scotus's word for it over yours

Scotus didn't rule on the case,
they kicked it back to the appeals
    court for reconsideration.

Did you not read it at all?

Actually there *ruling* was they they would not block Texas from
    acting on their border law.

Is reefer legal in your state ? Decidedly NOT according
to federal law. Shall they send the Army in to slash
and bash and burn and send all the potheads off to nasty
    gulags in Alaska ???

By your logic they should do so immediately.

The "usurpation" issue IS worth considering, but it's
never been a clear-cut thing. Some "judging" is always
required because messy reality and hard-writ law don't
    always jibe very well.

As is, Texas is UPHOLDING/ASSISTING existing writ federal
    immigration law. No fault there.
