While the much-touted differences between America's political parties
get obsessive, hysterical attention, the sameness of Imperial
corruption, waste and squalor regardless of who's in power gets little
notice. Scrape away the differences - mostly in domestic and cultural
issues - and we see the dead hand of Imperial Corruption is on the
tiller. The core of Imperial Corruption is the disconnect between the
nation's ideals of representational democracy and open markets and the
sordid reality: elites serve their interests by corrupting both
    democracy and open markets ..

America losing billions to tax cheats .. The United States could be
cheated out of as much as $1 trillion in unpaid taxes annually ..
The tax gap has surged in the last decade ..

Taxpayers are aware of the decline in IRS auditors, and realize they
are far less likely to get caught underpaying their taxes. The
rapidly growing cryptocurrency has little regulation and has been a
major source of tax evasion .. Millions of taxpayers don't report
and pay their actual tax liability .. Tax evasion is concentrated in
the top income level because higher-income taxpayers can use
accountants and tax preparers who help shield them from paying their
actual tax liability. Many tax professionals know the IRS audit
    rates have drastically declined ..

You mean commie elites like the Russian oligarchs who've found ways to manipulate free market economies to benefit mostly themselves?

Let's don't even talk about the irony of commies gleefully swimming in
    the free markets pool.

In other news, because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the

The good news is that the Ukraine crisis has shown that the days when
the US could single-handedly dictate global politics are long gone: most countries have not followed America in slapping sanctions on Russia. On
the contrary, more than a dozen countries have formally applied to join
the BRICS grouping .. The new BRICS members would create an entity with
a GDP 30% larger than the United States, over 50% of the global
population and in control of 60% of global gas reserves.

And when it comes to the prospect of engaging in a Cold War 2.0 with
China, the US appears even more isolated - even vis-à-vis its closest
allies .. It does show that it's not China that is becoming increasingly isolated from the world - but the United States. The latter would do
well to accept that the days of American unipolarity are over, and its
attempts to drag the world into a war with China will only accelerate
    its decline.

    America's Suicide

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only
exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse [generous amounts of money] from the public treasury .. Democracies do
not last long. They only last until they destroy themselves through
careless and reckless policy, usually financial .. Democracy caters to mediocrity, and that is why it always fails. It takes excellence, not mediocrity, to successfully run a nation .. Tytler wrote, "The average

The worst part is the complete waste of spending with not even a sliver
of reform. At $1.7 trillion, the new spending bill once again massively increases funding for just about everything. Many Republicans view this
as a win because they got more defense spending as part of the package.
Without needed reforms, most of this defense money will be wasted in a

    'Male decline' is real ..

This decline is most remarkable in education trends .. In American
colleges, there are roughly six female enrolments for every four male
ones. "This is the largest female-male gender gap in the history of
higher education, and it's getting wider," .. The high school
graduation gap between boys and girls is nearly the same as between
poor and middle-class kids. Male decline is a much-lamented social
trend in the US, linked to high rates of fatherlessness ..

There are biological and sociological reasons for this. In effect,
once a society reaches the point where brainpower is more important
than muscle power, men lose their productivity advantage over women.

Men are taught to be tough and hard and even mean. They're also
taught that education lead to "elitism" and neutralizes toughness.

If men don't want to get educations and use there minds more than
their bodies, whose fault is that?

A Crisis Is Looming For The U.S. Energy Grid

As U.S. energy infrastructure continues to go largely neglected and
city populations keep rising, certain regions of America are under
threat of electricity shortages for several years to come ..

Those regions being Texas and California, both of which have by
    legislation neglected power grid investment.

    <https://tinyurl.com/y8msjv7y>

Power Grids Are Failing All Over America

Hurricanes, blizzards and earthquakes are tough on power lines.

Statistics show that Americans have to endure much more frequent
and longer outages against people in civilized countries, and this >>situation is steadily getting worse, as everything in America.

It does seem that outages that used to be resolved in hours now take
    days.

    | Large, sustained outages have occurred with increasing frequency
    | in the U.S. over the past two decades .. The U.S. power system
    | is faltering .. <https://archive.is/hnwNd>

    ...

    Wow! A cite! I'm impressed!

The problem isn't a government one. As conservatives want us to
believe, business is none of the government's business.

The primary driver of grid failure is the private market wherein
private generation companies sell power wholesale to local
distributors. The grid isn't the generators responsibility and the
retailers are running on such thin margins that they aren't making the
    needed investments either.

When I lived in Texas twenty some years ago, there was much debate
about switching to the private market model. Eventually this was
done. Mailers went out and consumers had to choose the "retailer"
they would buy their power from over the common grid and Texas
especially has had trouble with outages almost ever since.

Georgia, where I've lived most of my life, has private power companies
as well, but they are closely regulated by the Georgia Public Service Commission. Rate changes, construction projects and grid maintenance
and enhancement are overseen by government regulators.

So, how are we going to force hundreds of private energy companies to
    upgrade the grid?

While the writer's "in fact" does not point to something backing the

The US government's own "accountability office" officially reported,
by 2015, about 9 million <https://is.gd/DVYtej>. Then, 7 years later
the figure would likely have increased significantly.

So, what's driving this trend? ..

    - Economic Concerns ..

There are misc personal reasons. The very basic reason is that America
is increasingly becoming more discomfortable for life, year after year.
It's because America is declining and deteriorating.

The America's increasing lagging might be seen already many years ago,
and sane people saw it earlier (e.g. <https://archive.vn/EIfbg>)
But given that the regular Americans en masse are like a herd of silly
