Yep, the Brits had some slaves. So did the 'countries'
where the Brits bought those slaves and so on an so
forth. Conquer and then force the locals to do your
shit-work. This was the pattern for 10,000 years (and
normality could always return, how do you say "Yes
Master !" in Mandarin ?). Hardly a single culture
that wasn't both enslaved and slavemaster.
But, really, Brit slavery wasn't King Chuckie's fault.
Indeed Britain was victim to waves of enslavers over
the millenia. Romans, Angles, Saxons, Normans ...
indeed the closest thing to "Original Englishmen"
are way out west in Wales.
