"Biden got a handle on COVID."
    — David Corn, D.C. bureau chief of Mother Jones

The lib reporter made the assertion on Twitter in response to complaints from Democrats about President Joe Biden's lack of meaningful accomplishments, including his failure to criminally prosecute Donald Trump.

    VERDICT:

WTF is he talking about? As of this week, almost 350,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 on Biden's watch at an average rate of 1,172 per day. That is more than the combined total of American combat deaths in the First and
Second World Wars. It is the equivalent of a September 11 terrorist attack every three days.

In October 2020, then-candidate Biden argued that Trump "should not remain as president of the United States" because more than 200,000 Americans had died from COVID-19 on his watch at a rate of about 1,000 per day. Biden promised
to "shut down the virus" if elected. Biden is on track to surpass Trump's COVID-19 body count (408,000) before the end of his first full year in
    office.

In conclusion: No, Biden did not get a handle on COVID-19. He still does not have a handle on COVID-19. Perhaps the president and his Democratic
colleagues should start believing in science and stop violating indoor mask mandates to party with their rich friends. There's no telling how many lives have been cut short as a result of their reckless behavior.

We rate this claim Four Bill Clintons.
