    *Critique of Jordan B. Peterson's Neo-Hegelian philosophy*

Abstract: Peterson’s philosophy, as expounded in "Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief", departs radically from views held in depth
psychology and theology but has much in common with Hegel. The world of consciousness is greatly overestimated. His exaggerated intellectualism
leads to deep symbols being over-rationalized, producing meager and
sterile interpretations. The article contributes to the understanding of
    myth and religion.

Keywords: identification, psychic integration, symbolic meaning,
transcendence, evil, heroism, Magna Mater, Osiris, resurrection,
alchemy, Hegel, Carl Jung, M-L von Franz, Nietzsche, St Augustine.
