The closest thing I've seen to the Zantharian Mall concept is The Knife Shoppe in New Sorpigal. You just had your Sorceror train in Staves because they are more powerful than daggers. You walk into The Knife Shoppe, wielding a Blood Dagger because you
haven't found a staff yet to replace it. The shopkeeper has no staves, yet is selling an innocuous throwaway dagger and three Shadow Daggers. Shadow Daggers are an almost imperceptible improvement on Blood Daggers and you want to shell out that 202
gold, wasting your staff improvement and perpetuating bad habits. Three of them!
In Zantharian Mall, buying the staff upgrade could cause The Knife Shoppe to come into rotation for example. Any further deviance is up to the shopkeeper.
