    The death toll was 863, and 36,015 new cases may be among the highest ever for 6/23/2020.
    California's 6,503 is probably the highest ever. California's highest daily ever
    before the shutdown apparently was 2,603 on May 5th, and it was very very seldom
    above 2,000 cases daily until the beginning of this month, June.
