The study, which involved interviews with 250 transgender people, found that the majority of them reported social rejection related to their gender identity, as well as being the victim of violence.
You won't get any attention for pretending to be trans. You will be
rejected by other people and you will find yourself at increased risk of
being the victim of violence.
Nobody pretends to be someone who they are not only to be faced with
crap. You must be an idiot to think people transition to get attention
of others.

There is no verifiable evidence that gender dysphoria can be treated in
other ways than transitioning. None whatsoever.
Gender-affirmative trans care *requires* therapy. That is, unless you go
the informed consent route, which you can always refuse to.
Scaring trans people away from transitioning and repressing their
identities *IS* conversion therapy.
