Pretty much. Slavery is a black mark on our country's history and
there is nothing wrong with teaching children that which was what was presented to me when I was in school. There were some lame excuses for
the founders who had been slave owners but those seem funny now in retrospect. Critical Race Theory teaches that slavery and racism were
the driving forces in the country's history which is absurd.
Democrats have been lying about everything throughout history, ever since
they bubbled up from pond scum.
Consider this. As the Democrat story goes, most slaves entered via New Orleans. It's nearly 5,000 miles from Africa, around Florida to New
Orleans. The winds tend to diminish in the gulf, so hold those thoughts.
It's 3,600 miles from the same point of origin in Africa to Massachusetts,
with steady winds the entire way.
Where do you think a ship's captain is going to take his cargo of slaves?
What reliable route will he take to conserve time and maximize profit?

would be paid for regular goods such as tea and cloth in Boston.

The fact that they eventually abolished it changes none of the history.
A ship would reprovision and set sail again, dumping any sick or dead over
the side. Food rations were increased so the available slaves would be
healthy in appearance. They would make their way down a few hundred miles
of coastline to the Carolinas, where bankers with Eastern ties would
conduct the auctions and negotiate payments.
One more tidbit, which is easily verified by US Government historical
census records, they are scanned, on paper. You'll have to do some manual reading and tallying. Start back in the 1840s and 50s.
At the time of the "civil war", nearly 40% of the slaves in the South were owned by - other blacks, who rented them to white and black landowners.
The average owner had around ten slaves, with the largest black owners
having a hundred and more.
Note that reading and work are two major Democrat deficiencies.
And we know that you can't have SOCIAL JUSTICE and EQUAL JUSTICE at
the same time, because they're mutually exclusive.
Social justice is in the eye of the beholder.
