Misogyny and Misanthropy

There are any number of people who would see a man who says anything insulting to a woman – any woman – as a misogynist.
By that standard most women are misandrists because they have said something insulting to a man.
Most people like some people and not others. There are saints who love everyone and there are Marilyn Manson types who hate everyone; but in most cases we see a mix. Mainly, people will like those who act in ways of which they approve and dislike those
who act in ways of which they do not approve. Feminists would claim that this is an attempt at control people. It is not. It is human nature.
This of course is the case with feminists themselves. They like men and women who act the way they want them to, and don’t like men and women who act in way they don’t want them to. According to their own logic, then, they are seeking to control both
women and men.
For an opposing view, we have Ayn Rand saying, “You cannot love man without hating most of the creatures that bear his name. It is one or the other. One cannot love God and sacrilege impartially. Unless one doesn’t know that sacrilege has been
committed. Because one does not know God.” She was wrong. I can love whom I love without hating the bulk of humanity and even while having good will to the bulk of humanity. But don’t call me a misogynist or a bigot for doing what every other person
in the world is doing – liking some people and not others.
In fact I have rarely dealt with more hateful people than feminists. The only ones who come close are the “sceptics.” But I have found feminists to be more hateful than Christians and conservatives, whom they accuse of being bigots. They are even
more hateful than Ayn Rand.
Is everything that has come out of feminism wrong? Not at all. There are many issues on which I support feminism. I am against domestic violence. I want women to have career opportunities and power in society. What I am not in favor of is women being
taught to be horrible people. And this is what we see in a lot of what has come out of feminism.
Feminism needs to move away from its errors and do things that actually benefit women. Support women in having a safe life inside the home and a fulfilling life outside the home. Stop prevailing on women to be vicious and paranoid and instead work to
improve their lot. Once the feminists do that, they will have my support. And they will also become a movement that actually lives up to its claims of benefiting women.
