    If you are diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, it's because your blood sugar level is elevated. Period. Other conditions may be related to dm2, but if your blood sugar is high during two visits in a row, your MD will probably want to prescribe medications to
    lower it. It's high because you have something called insulin resistance, which is not well understood. The standard of care is for you to take medications and measure your own blood sugar daily without ever curing your diabetes. Your MD may also have
    you injecting insulin if oral drugs don't keep your blood sugar low enough. Advancement in the treatment of dm2 depends upon newer and better drugs. I am skeptical. -- BowTie
