    Dear colleagues,

Online injustice is a well-known fact. IT-giants oppress basic user rights, and users of popular services feel mistreated - but they don't know their rights and ways to protect own rights. We tried to sketch possible solution at Access to Justice Lviv
    Hackathon 2018.

Idea was born to create global non-governmental user rights defense service, presentation:
    https://www.slideshare.net/ssuser95bdf1/digital-attorney-user-rights-defense-service

Here is a description of the designed list of basic user rights at every Internet domain. Discussion, critical remarks and proposals to support are invited.

    1. Security

User right to security means that any legitimate Internet service must avoid any dangers for users and inform them about known risks of using such service, especially if universal human rights are at stake. Typical violation of the right to security is
hate speech. To defend the right to security in case of hate speech, we recommend reporting abuse. If the administration of domain ignores such reports, users can organize, make public demands and take collective action.

    2. Privacy

User right to privacy means that all legitimate Internet services must respect individual freedom and dignity, avoid any unauthorized intrusions in a user's life. Typical violation of the right to privacy is collecting personal data without a person's
consent. To defend own right to privacy in case of collecting information about you without your consent, ask to erase undesirable information. If the administration of domain ignores such requests, users can organize, make public demands and take
    collective action.

    3. Fair Service

User right to fair service means that any legitimate Internet service must function in the best interests of the user, without manipulations and fraud. Typical violation of the right to fair service is false advertising. To defend a right to fair service
in case of false advertising, we recommend to boycott unfair advertisers and ask for compensation for damages caused by false advertising. If the administration of domain ignores such requests, users can organize, make public demands and take collective
action. Discriminative and seductively addictive services must be also considered as unfair.

    4. Freedom of Expression

User right to freedom of expression means that any legitimate Internet service may not oppress opinions, creativity, and dialogue of users. Typical violation of a right to freedom of expression is shutting up for criticism. To defend own right to freedom
of expression in case of shutting up for criticism, we recommend users to complain formally, to demand freedom of speech and to express critical thoughts using other channels of communication. If the administration of domain continues systematically
shutting up critics, users can organize, make public demands and take collective action.

    5. Protection of Property

User right to protection of property means that any legitimate Internet service takes maximal possible technical and legal measures to prevent any violations of intellectual and other property rights using this service, to ensure the inviolability of all
user assets, entrusted to this service. Typical violation of a right to protection of property is copyright infringement. To defend own rights, a user can demand necessary measures for the protection of property. Also, users can organize, make public
demands to stop systematic violations and take collective action.

    Sincerely,
