The Texas Supreme Court on Friday blocked a lower court order that
permitted some abortions.
The decision is the latest development in a wild couple of weeks for
the state of Texas.
On Friday, June 24, a majority of the U.S. Supreme Court voted to
overturn Roe v. Wade, ending constitutionally-protected abortion rights
across the country.
The decision resulted in so-called "trigger laws" in nearly two dozen
states going into effect.
Cut!
Almost immediately after the law went into effect, though, some
abortion providers rushed to keep the practice legal.
And their efforts were initially successful when a Houston judge issued
an order earlier this week reassuring doctors and abortion service
providers they would still be allowed to resume abortions.

The Supreme Court just overturned Roe v. Wade and returned control of
abortion to the states, and this single judge in Texas says abortions
can continue in Texas, even though the law went into effect immediately
with the Supreme Court's decision.
I guess this stupid judge's decision will have to be overturned by the
Supreme court.
Will he then decide again that abortions can continue in Texas?
What a legal system!
