They want reports.. so CANADIANS and others, in order to defend ourselves against anonymous telephone harassment, making reports is an important first step.
It's not against the law to call spoof in Canada, I can make a report about a scammer and they can be fined, but we have to find them first.
There are plenty of websites that offer the service but why?
The only legitimate reason to use a call spoofing is a call centre or a doctor's office, so why cannot a call centre use its own phone number. A doc doesn't use a call spoofing service to call her patients. No one needs to manipulate their phone number.
I entered a contract with my provider, to use its phone lines and network support. I get to use their phone number but it's not mine, I lease the number.
Telus owns it, and once I agree to use their service' I have sweet f all to keep me safe.
I called Telus about call spoofing and I asked how does a scammer buy a phone number to use on a call spoofing website? The techs response was, we sell phone number but we do not have any control over who uses them.

IF I DO Not include a valid phone number in my email account upon registration I cannot join into a two step authentication process.. OR EVENTUALLY GET ASKED TO PROVIDE IT.

HER story was elaborate..but when challenged, she became aggressive
