Was there any tank versus tank engagements during the Vietnam War? If
so, what happened?
Yes. The battle of Ben Het, in 1969. A platoon of US Army M48s (4) were
dug in at Ben Het Special Forces Camp. The camp was attacked by North Vietnamese units employing PT 76 tanks, & BTR APCs. The 48s managed to
take out 2 PT 76’s & 1 BTR.
PT 76 destroyed at Ben Het.
