I have certainly appreciated everyone's help with my research into my wife's family. I have learned a lot about the family of my wife's grandmother, Gussie DINNERSTEIN, and her siblings.
It appears that two branches of that family may actually be related. Gussie's sister, Anna, married Solomon GROSS. One of their children was Sarah Gross, who married Morris BERGER, and their son Joseph married Shirley DINNERSTEIN. Shirley's grandfather is apparently an ancestor of a large family, Avrum Yaakov Dinnerstein, who married Pesha Bella SHEPSENWOHL. It is my understanding that the
Dinnersteins are descended from four ancestors, one of whom is David DINERSHTEIN,
the great-great-grandfather of Avrum Yaakov. The family seems to originate in an
area that may have been in Lithuania and Poland and is now in Belarus.
I have identified a number of families who are probably related to the Dinershteins
The names are:
Chaim (Louis) Dinerstein
Chaim Nisan Hakohen Dinerstein
Eliezer (Ellie) Dinerstein
Gavriel Yankel Dinershtein
Herman Dinerstein
Hyman Dinnerstein
Isador (Isaac/Ike) Dinner (Dinnerstein)
Israel (Srul Hakohen) Dinerstein
Jacob Diner (Dinnerstein/Dinner)
Mordecai Dinnerstein
Moshe Natan Dinerstein
Samuel (Saul) Dinerstein
Simcha (Simon) Dinerstein
Simon Dinnerstein
Harris, Max, and Yaacov Denerstein
Meyer (Max) and Marsha Dinnerstein
Zvi (Hirsch) Dinerstein
There may be someone who has more information about these people who can connect
them to the branch I am researching. I look forward to sharing my information with
anyone from those families.
