• Connection between KANTOR family and Volozhin family

According to a scribbled note written by my great uncle his mother's family was somehow descendant from Reb. Chaim of Volozhin. His grandparents were Shlomo and
Sarah Hinde KANTOR of Karlin (Pinsk). The descendancy seems to be through Sarah Hinde (maiden name unknown). There is a rumor that Reb Chaim's son Itzaleh was the
"unterfirer" at Sarah Hinde's (or her mother's) wedding, as the bride was an orphan when she got married.

According to published sources of the Volozhin family, Itzaleh did have a daughter
and son-in-law LANDAU who both died during his lifetime but I can not find in published sources a mention of my ancestress. I've been told that many Rabbinical
family trees (including the Volozhin/SOLOVEITCHIK family) do not include children
who were not Rabbis or married to such. I did see another scribbled chart which mentions the name LANDAU which strengthens my feeling that we are connected to them.

A prominent member of my above family was R' Chaim Dov KANTOR, who was
the mashgiach of the Yekev (winery) in Zichron Yaacov near Haifa and
Rav Kook's representative in that area. Unfortunately his descendants
do not know of the presumed connection with the Volozhin family.

If anyone knows of our connection with the Volozhin family I would be
    happy to hear about it.

    TIA
