I would like to hear from anyone researching the surnames of SCHAUB
    and/or BOKEMEYER.

I have traced back to the following emmigrants from Germany:

    BOKEMEYER, Henry - b. ca.1836 in Hanover

SCHAUB, Elisabeth - b. ca. 1836 in Hesse Cassel
SCHAUB, Josef - (no further info)

It is possible that Josef SCHAUB is Elisabeth's brother.

Family history (and some research evidence) indicates that Henry
BOKEMEYER and Elisabeth SCHAUB emmigrated from Germany circa 1847-1850
and either met (and possibly married) aboard ship or upon arrival in
New Orleans, Louisiana. They had five children, probably all born in
New Orleans, and eventually immigrated to Houston, Texas.

The New Orleans 1870 census indicated they were residing with a William
and Catherine NIERMEYER and an Anastasia GRUBBS, but I know of no other relation with these surnames.

    Any info appreciated.

I am the grandaughter of Harry Bokemeyer SR, he was the youngest son of Julius Bokemeyer, son of Henry Bokemeyer. Have you learned more since this post?
