"In 1886 the Harleian Society issued a Volume which contained Allegations for Marriage Licences issued by the Vicar-General of the Archbishop of Canterbury between 1660 and 1679. It was printed from one of the late Colonel Chester's Manuscripts, and (
though unfortunately it was not a complete transcript) it included, as he stated, 'all except those of persons evidently of the very humblest rank.'
By the kind permission of John Hassard, Esq., Principal Registrar of the Diocese of Canterbury, the Society has been able to continue this Work, with, however, the following difference, viz., that these Volumes contain the whole of the Allegations
from the date where the previous Volume ended, 15 July 1679, to 30 June 1694, the last entry in the books at Dean's Court, Doctors' Commons; and it is hoped before long the Society will be able to issue a Volume containing the Allegations between 1660
and 1679 which were omitted by Colonel Chester, so as to form a complete list from 1660 to 1694."

So I guess it pays to check which volume you are consulting.
