• William Knighton, of Middle Temple, son of Thomas Knighton, of Laundes,

From Richard Legge@21:1/5 to All on Sun Feb 5 11:01:08 2023
In the book, "The Minutes of Parliament of the Middle Temple" Vol : 1501-1603 translated by Charles Trice Martin; it states the following about a potential ancestor, William Knighton:

"1598 admissions, 1 July, Mr. William Knighton, late of New Inn, gent., second son of Thomas Knighton, of Laundes, Northants., gent., specially."

I have looked for any town that resembles the name "Laundes" in Northants. and am unable to locate a suitable match. Does anyone have an idea to which town "Laundes" refers?

    thanks,
    Richard

Raunds? The 1681 visitation mentions a William Knighton of Irthlingborough, which is just a few miles from Raunds.
