    Just something to consider:
    The spammer may be a legitimate, authorized retailer of the content and reports to the publisher just confirm to them and the marketer that they are getting eyes on their adds, one of the hardest things to evaluate with internet marketing. If they are
    being infringed upon, the publisher already has enough evidence to act. If they are not, further reports may only encourage the misbehavior.

    Yeah, I get that. Still, if they are authorized, further alerts simply tell them repeatedly, "Your adversing here continues to be read", which will only encourage more of same.

    That's why we notify the publisher: they know who their authorized dealers are, and can take action *when they know about this kind of thing*. Some of these books retail for more than US$120.
    (Springer is aware of this dealer now, and will be looking into it.)
