I've fixed the link on Wikitree so that it will come to the Google version of this forum, and not the old Rootsweb one. There seems to have been more discussion since 2002 on this forum, which is pretty easy to search. As far as Doug Richardson's
position, which is the basis of the Wikitree one, I see that John Grey of Kempston is still the father in Royal Ancestry, his more recent book (Vol 3, p176). And this John is a son (from a second marriage with Joan Astley) of Reynold Grey (Vol 3, p. 414
and p 127).
The forum post you found is a proposed correction of Complete Peerage, so perhaps the other online accounts you have found are based on older proposals. I have not had time to look into it though.
