    Hello,

I have researching a line from the 14th century which appears to end with one sir John de Mathem, father of Agneta, his heiress. According to a document prepared possibly more than 100 years after his time, his arms were Sarracen swords (or similar),
quartered with double-headed eagles. It is unknown where he John lived.

Up to now I have not been able to find instances of Mathem in any of the visitations of various counties, but I am wondering if it is related to Matheme.

A few instances of Matheme can be found online, but no line of descent.
