Sir William Hankford KB (1350-14230 of Annery in Devon said to have married by 1380 a Cristina possibly the heiress of the Stapledon family of the estate of Annery in the parish of Monkleigh. Tristam Risdon Survey of Devon 1810.
Is there any information about the parentage of this Cristina?
Richard the son of William Hankford married a Thomasine Stapleton daughter of Richard Stapleton. Was there confusion as to how Annery passed to Hankford not through William but through Richard?
