    I am told that shanties family lived in still exist behind barn on farm. This person was their. They are said to be from Derrynasafagh which is townland? Could this be farm as well? thanks for any help at all Sue

    Hi Sue,
    Derrynasafagh is a Townland in Cork.
    All the houses in the Townland were farm houses. Farms did not have names,
    they were just called after the owner - Murphy's farm etc.
    You can get a list of occupiers in the 1840's and maps on the website www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation.
    But people who lived in small cottages or shanties might not be listed in
    the griffith valuation.
