I'm completely new to this so apologies if this is a silly question.
I'm looking for information on a relative who I always thought was
Irish. I've found the registration of his birth on the Ireland, Civil Registration Births Index, 1864-1958.
The birth country is listed as Ireland but the registration district is listed as Guernsey. If he was born in Guernsey why would the birth
country be Ireland? He was born in 1913 if that's relevant.
Thanks!
