Hi Everyone,

I am trying to track down information about my paternal grandfather, Francis McDonald (Francis W McDonald). Based on UK documents, we assume he was born in 1890 in Dublin.

According to my dad, Francis was an orphan, possibly in a Christian Brother's orphanage. He never spoke of his time there to his children, so we have little to go on. A search of the birth and baptism records didn't return anything useful.

Any suggestions on how to proceed would be much appreciated.
