Hi all
NZ question.
I have a William James Dobbie who died 1922 in Riccarton Christchurch, NZ,
born in Scotland in 1851.
He was from a family of undertakers.
I wonder if anyone can suggest how I can find out if he had any family with him. His wife died abt 1896 in Glasgow, and they had eight children.
What was he doing in NZ I wonder?. He did have a cousin Neil who migrated there previously.
Cheers
Marg
Hi Marg
Turns out to be a rather common name.
The Aust. NA has the service record of a person of that name, with father
also sharing the name.
In NZ there is a Coroners Inquest for your man (1922)
https://www.archway.archives.govt.nz/
Perhaps, if you were to purchase the document, it just might shed some light
on the situation.
Regards
Kate
