• Merchant Navy Research query

From Nigel Crisp@21:1/5 to All on Sat Sep 11 10:35:16 2021
Thanks to Ancestry, I've discovered my Charles Rackham, aged 16 years
was indentured for a 5 year period on board the Swift on 14 Nov 1845.

The Source being: The National Archives of the UK; Kew, Surrey,
England; Collection: Registry of Shipping and Seamen: Index of
Apprentices; Class: BT 150; Piece Number: 22

From FindMyPast, Britain, Merchant Seamen, 1835-1857, Series: BT114
    Piece number:17, I learn:
Register Ticket Number: 195457, Chas. Rackham, Harwich.

Being new to this research, I've purchased: My Ancestor Was a Merchant
Seaman: How Can I Find Out More About Him? Until that arrives in the
post, I thought a general query might help to point me in the right
    direction.

I would like to hope I might unearth a bit more about Charles, the
vessels he served on, and perhaps when and if he left the service and
    what became of him.

    Many thanks - Nigel
