Have you looked at FamilySearch's own Help? There is a long item on
deleting a Gedcom which may or may not be relevant to your situation.

Thanks, but I can only see ways to delete a person. The odd thing is that although I uploaded the tree with around 1500 in it, , I can only see a box with my name in it and a box marked add father & one marked add mother. I
cant see the whole of my tree.

Hence I want to delete whatever is there somewhere and start again,. Surely you should be able to see your own tree.

I suggest you contact FamilySearch via the Contact Us link. I have done
this several times over various problems and have always found they
answered very promptly and courteously and told me exactly what I needed
    to know.

    Try https://www.familysearch.org/tree/import/files

The URL looks a bit odd, but this is the place where uploaded GEDCOMs are shown. I found it through the site map.

And you are led there by the instructions in the Help file which I
mentioned earlier. (I typed "Remove a gedcom" into the Search box.)
