I am currently looking for fellow descendants/relations to my
common ancestors, and other branches of the family. My ancestor,
Matthew Gray, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1747.
He served as a private in Pennsylvania during the Revolutionary War,
as claimed by Minnie Crawford Winder, a great-grandchild of John,
in DAR records. He married a woman named Nancy, last name unknown.
He emigrated to what would become Mason County Kentucky in the late
1700's, poss. as early as 1785. Tax records and deeds indicate that
relatives were also living in the same area. It is now known if they
came together or individual families. Deeds show that Matthew had
at least two siblings- James and Archibald, and that his fathers name
was John. John Gray recieved a land warrant of some kind which he
willed to his children at a later date. From evidence gathered from
deeds and other family members it appears they were farmers, and most
likely from Scotland. My paternal grandmother, now deceased, always
said that the Grays were Scotch-Irish. From what I have been able
to determine so far the Irish married into the family. I have not
been able to establish when our family emigrated, nor the reasons
for it as I have been unable to find evidence so far.

Matthew and Nancy Gray had 10 children, according to information sent
to my father by Carol Gray Abbott, a located cousin. Their names were: Alexander/James/Isaac*/ Augustus/Samuel/John/Nancy/Andrew/Dudley/Thomas.

Isaac married Hettie (Hattie)? Dryden. They were:

    Robert/Samuel/Thomas Wilkerson*/Minerva Jane/Nancy/Dolly/John K.

Thomas Wilkerson Gray married Martha Ann Tomlin. Their children were:

    George Wesley/Leander/Michael*/Samuel/Mary Alice/Charles/Irene/Thomas
    Walter.

Michael Gray married Josephine Teeters. Their children were:

    Cloa/Ishmael Harry*/Cyrus/Jessie/Omer/Eva/Edna/George Wesley/Ruth/Flora.

Harry Ishmael, my great grandfather, married Etta Martin. They had
two children: Earl Gray, and my Grandfather, Stanley Edgar Gray.

Stanley Edgar Gray married Pauline Ballweg and had only one child:
    my father, Stanley Everts Gray.

I am looking for relations who may have information on the earlier
portions of the line, children, etc. I am also looking for information
that is missing- marriage/birth dates, etc. I have discovered some loose information about a few directly related descendants, but nothing that
is very extensive. I have ancestral information on the Teeters/Kennedy/ Stewart line that was given to my father by Carol Gray Abbott. I inted
to place a GEDCOM or related family file on the internet in future; right
now this is the only source of posting I have. Hopefully by then I will
have more information. On the first two lines of children I have almost nothing except for the first names of spouses, and the names of a few children. If you read this and have a link to someone in this post,
drop me a line at my email address.
