Would like to connect with anyone doing work on the Jacob Smith/Schmidt family of Sussex County, New Jersey. Jacob was born Oct. 30 1739 near old Log Jail in New Jersey and married Elizabeth Lewis in about 1761. Came to Canada as a loyalist in 1788 settling in Glanford County, south of
    Hamilton, ON. Children include Grace Ann Huffman b.1762, Lewis b. 1764, Edmund b. 1766, Jacob b.1768, Elizabeth Beamer b. 1769, David b.1771,
Godfrey b.1772, Amos b. 1774, Mary Hartwell b.1775, Charlotte Wright
b.1777, George Frederick b. 1779, Amelia Marceles b. 1781, and Christiana Tickner b.1783. In particular, I am working on the line of Jacob Smith b.1768 and his first wife Susannah Beam b. 1772 in Sussex County New
Jersey, the d/o Jacob Boehm (Beam) and Ann Steiner of the Pequea Colony, Conestogo Twp., Lancaster Co. PA. I am also interested in Jacob's (b.
1739) parents. Mathias Schmidt and Christina of Amwell Twp. Hunterdon Co.
NJ have often been suggested but the evidence is slim. Hope to hear from anyone.
