Folks, I have the sad mission of letting you know that we’ve lost two wonderful resources, constant friend Ricki Marshall of Frederiksted, St. Croix, Systems and Programs Librarian for the US Virgin Islands Division of Libraries and Archives, and Svend
Holsoe of Landowne, PA, USA, author and professor of anthropology. Both were indefatigable proponents of all things Virgin Islands, and together they hosted the amazing Virgin Islands Families website at vifamilies.org. Svend had an astonishing ability
to read the old Danish handwriting, a skill fast disappearing.
