Hi Steve. I've just been poking around the interwebs with the same question, albeit 11 years later.
I just came across the info that HH Gorringe was a Oxford educated rector's son who served St. Michael's Cathedral in Barbados AND that the rector's wife was a rector's daughter. So church records being a bit more if we can find a rector Honychurch of
an age to have had a daughter who gave birth in Barbados in 1841 we would get the mother's maiden name angle confirmed.
