And, in the end, they can gently tell you, in an un-uttered way " you

die is your business", and "bye bye, and see you soon, we hope to

be of help to you again, if we can be of help to you again."

Thereafter, with no pun intended, they just boxed down on

their air-con office table and chair.and wait for their monthly

salary and 3 months tax-payer bonus again. Hehe.

You know what lately people said the ex-minister of trade Lim Hng Kiang who
was retired today. They were shown to the media today with a lunch held for them.

The ex-minister of trade and industry was until today were also in charge of SME had produced nothing, if at all, for the SMEs.

This is except for the big MNC which when coming to SG for their investments were just automatic investments to him.

This is as they chose Singapore for their investment to be in and not they
need to be courted, as Singapore is already known to them.

Some would know through them also through their own interval surveys and
other interval connectivity, or business connects with other MNCs that are already invested here in Singapore.

Therefore, normally speaking, there is no need to make contact or to connect with the minister of trade to "talk and discuss" of their investment.

This means the minister can be quite a free-time spending minister focusing
on reading of various industry statistics, instead.

Most ministers and civil servants in Singapore worked too long in one job
all their life, that they were at lost when they we replaced.

Those MNCs that had invested here in Singapore for many years, had came for their safety and security of their investments, and not of other else
    reasons.

This is even if the cost of buildings and lands and rentals are very high
and very much higher than the cheaper elsewhere of nearby countries.

That is why there have been recent months and pat years were talking about upgrading the SME with technology.

With no pun intended, this, again, is another talk cock show to them. One
can see and count how many of these SMEs in Singapore had dared to leave Singapore to expand another operations overseas?.

Most, if not all, SMEs were afraid and cannot afford to risk their time and potential losses of theft from cheap poor labour and government red tapes
when they invested into other countries.

They also simply do not want to have high quality people in their employ
when they do afraid of them having to "steal" and "copy" or "rob"their processes and knowhow in the operations of the company.

If when overseas, there is no one to help you except for yourself and your trusted Singaporean employs. However, how many Singaporeans are willing to
go overseas with no prospect and meagre pay?

By the time when one comes back to Singapore, there is not even a HDB flat
for one to buy. This is because you don't have a girlfriend to date or to marry, and if need to, to share her name in the application for a flat.

Also the SME company is afraid of not enough orders to compete and not
enough money and resources to sell and promote their brands in other
    countries.

In short, according to the grapevines, the job of Lim Hng Kiang that spanned over 27 years of public service is meant nothing to many people in jobs and companies.

His reading of industrial statistics is one thing but it is not producing outcome for the SMEs is another statistic to read of the outcome of his performances.

If one listens to the SME directly and frequently engaged enough of hearing
and talking to them, a better outcome may even be possible and faster, too.

Unfortunately, this is not the case in civil service's mentality of work and slow speed of work, too.

As fishery and seafood business in Singapore are SME business, there is no point in expecting much from them.

They can create some incentives on equipment investment tax rebates and so
on to relieve you in reducing the tax incomes, etc.

Other than that, they are just another civil servant playing their keyboards and sending their emails to and fro among themselves, so to speak, with no
    pun intended to them.

Thus, if there is nothing you can do, then don't do that business.
